Swedes in Canada

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: A comprehensive history book about Swedish people in Canada

The working title for the forthcoming book is Swedes in Canada: Invisible Immigrants. Check this spot for news about publication, hopefully in 2013.

Donations Received

This 6-year project is now more than halfway on the road toward completion. Research and organization of the material collected - 40 linear feet! - took four years, and writing of the history began in earnest in December 2006. The end result will be a published book which will include information about Swedish immigrants memorialized under the Honour the Pioneers program.

Honour the Pioneers

Honour the Pioneers A donation of $100 will place the name of an immigrant, or immigrant couple, and his/her/ migration experience in the forthcoming history book.

Your donation can also be in the form of a Memorial Gift for a loved one, in which case your name would be followed by the words "in memory of" and the name of the loved one.

For example

Name of immigrant Anna Regina Sideen

Date of migration 1900

Place of origin in Sweden Kyrkås, Jämtland

Place of settlement in Canada Stanley, Ontario

Name/s of donor/s Wesley and Carol Ann Sideen/Neil and Carol Sideen in memory of Marion Muldoon
